It’s perfect for:

  • The Beginner: You’ve got a great camera but feel overwhelmed by all the buttons and settings. You’re ready to move beyond auto mode and take control of your photography.
  • The Creative Spirit: You love capturing moments and have an eye for beautiful things, but lack the technical knowledge to translate your vision into stunning photos.
  • The Learner: You’re excited to gain confidence with your camera in a supportive environment where no question is too basic, and no skill level is too small.

why is camera 101 for women only?

  • Building Confidence: I know that women often learn best in a setting where they feel comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace. It's a safe space designed to boost your confidence with your camera in a judgment-free zone.
  • Tailored Approach: Women tend to have unique perspectives and learning styles when it comes to creativity. My focus is on customising the experience to resonate with your individual goals, helping you unlock your full potential as a photographer.

Do I need to have a professional camera to join the workshop?

Not at all. Any digital camera will work, including DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, or even advanced point-and-shoot cameras. If you're unsure about your equipment, please feel free to contact me, and I'll guide you on what to bring.

How long is the workshop, and what is the format?

The Camera 101 workshop is a one-to-one session that lasts approximately 5-6 hours. It's a hands-on experience where you'll get to practice each concept as we go along. If you prefer to learn with a friend, we can adjust the session to accommodate both of you.

It will be designed with your needs in mind. We'll also cover some fundamental points, including understanding camera settings, mastering focus, composing great shots, using light and the exposure triangle. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the skills to take control of your camera and capture better photos.

Can I bring a friend to the workshop?

Yes, you can! If you'd like to learn with a friend, there's a discounted rate of £350 per person, instead of the standard price of £450. It's a great way to learn and share the experience together.

No prior knowledge is required. The workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly, with clear explanations and practical exercises that will help you gain confidence in using your camera.

Where will the workshop take place?

The location of the workshop is flexible and can be arranged to suit your needs. Whether it's in a studio, your home, or an outdoor setting, we'll choose a spot that makes you feel comfortable and inspired.

Please bring your camera, a fully charged battery, and an empty memory card. If you have additional lenses or accessories, please feel free to bring those as well. Don't forget to bring a notebook if you want to take notes.

What if I have more questions after the workshop?

I'm always here to help. If you have any questions or need further guidance after the workshop, you're welcome to reach out to me for additional support. If you’d like to continue developing your photography skills, you can also book another workshop tailored to your specific needs and learning goals.

Are there any extra charges for location hire or travel?

For travel outside a certain distance, there may be a small additional charge to cover my travel expenses. I’ll always let you know about any extra costs upfront, so there are no surprises.
